Cazza — All OK now.   Those rather awkward eBay categories don't help, do they.

Hi Guys,

Yes I'm the same guy that posted about the Stuart Crystal - White Star Line patterns and the chap who has been "talking" Carol re the eBay list of glassware

I'm going to try to put a picture on here of a few of my pieces of WSL glassware so that you may see the type ot things that they carried.

As far as I can remember (and I'm only talking pre 1934/5 ships now) in my experience I have not come across any "sold aboard" table glassware items such as glasses, vases, and the like.

I have obviously seen a lot of ships glassware but I have my doubts that these were ever on board any ship.

Carol - the eBay listing looks ok but the category it is in is not doing the glasses any justice. I guess if you want to link it to the White Star Line / Titanic then fair enough but it may do better elsewhere.

Cheers

Ray

Stonier also supplied boxed sets of Stuart glasses to White Star Lines main competitor Cunard Steamship Company.ie RMS Queen Mary. These were often given as prizes to winners of onboard competitions and deck games, the boxes carried the Stuart and Stonier name but the glasses carried the fully etched logo of The Cunard Steamship Company and not the Stuart mark.there maybe some with Stuart marks but i have not seen any.good night and happy hunting as long as you are not in front of me.JH.
