Red satin finish bowl with white swirls inside and outside
« on: December 31, 2007, 06:57:31 PM »
I need help id'ing this beautiful large red bowl.  There are white stripes that are layered or sandwiched in the piece.  These stripes run from the center to the top of the bowl.  Then there is one contiguous white stripe beginning on the outside of the center of the bottom of the bowl that swirls around the piece all the way to the top.  Very interesting piece.  I posted this on the EBay glass board a few months ago and the only suggestion was this may be German.

9-5/8" top width
5-5.5" bottom width
5-3/4" tall

Thank you for any help.

My first instinct is contemporary Polish glass, but I really don't have a clue. Here's a bump to the top for ya!

Hi, I recognize you from eBay.  I always go in your store, too (well, on the computer anyway) and look at your things.  This is one of three things that is driving me crazy.  I love the look (I suspect newer glass, for certain).  But the origin is what I need....

Thanks for writing.  Just a quick question, what's a peep?  I always see that word used on the eBay forum but do not know what it means...and I didn't want to ask.  Thanks...again.

A peep...Ya got me! Unless it's "peeps" meaning people? I've heard that one. I don't actually have a store, or anything for sale right now. Do you mean the J.I. Co gallery?

What's your username on the ebay board? I really like the look of your bowl. Hopefully someone can ID it for you!

A peep is a person who looks (peeps) at  posts on message boards.
