Incalmo Vase
« on: February 23, 2008, 07:11:14 PM »
Hello!
Just got this piece in.... It is a very large Incalmo piece.
Has a bubble effect similar to Efeso by Barovier, and has black sand inclusions all over.
I have a Venini Fazzoletto vase with a similar style (with the black inclusions) that is signed.
Any ideas about this one? It is not signed that I can see.
Alex, maybe you can help me out with this one.
Thanks everyone
Javier

Dear Javier,
I have seen this vase (a little wider and less tall with blue incalmo, not brown, but same family) somewhere, but I don't remember exactly where. May be at Formia factory or also may be at Aureliano Toso, before they close. I think 4-5 years ago. I didn't buy it due to it was too opaque for my clients. If I will remind more details I will email you.

Ciao

Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the reply.
Do you mean you saw it as "new" about 4-5 years ago?
Or just saw it at 1 of those galleries during that time?

Dear Javier,
yes, something as 4-5 years ago, may be also 5-6. Probably it was at Aureliano Toso, but I'm not sure at 100%. At that time they had a very good master glassmaker, Diego Dei Rossi, an ex gaffer of Alfredo Barbini and he made several pieces and reproductions with complex techniques as incalmo.

Ciao
