Hi, anyone recognise this heavy vase? the panel's/windows give a strange optical effect.

Looks like Inwald's 'Lord' pattern, also known as Jacobean. Marcus or Glen may be able to add more.

Why the but? I don't see anything too unusual about this piece. Inwald certainly made this shape vase. I don't know whether or not Davidson produced a version.

It does look like Inwald's Jacobean (Lord). But I can't be absolutely sure from the photos. I have posted a catalogue image on this page, it may help you, Sue.

Yes, you are both right, i think what threw me was one side of the vase was smoother than all of the rest of the vase and it gave it a very odd appearance, when i looked at it in daylight it was obvious.

Well it is now in pieces!! as i took it out onto the patio and the dog spotted a squirrel, i ended up flat on my toosh!! and the vase kissed the ground.

the lesson learned ? leave the dog indoors when looking at glass outdoors

Yes i'm alright Glen, the dog thought it was a game, i had more trouble trying to keep him away from the glass, so it was a quick dash indoors and put the dog away  :ac1:

I'm glad you're OK Sue, but very sorry about the glass.
It must be catching, as I managed to smash a bottle of whisky on the kitchen floor today while cooking spaghetti bolognese (like you do...  not  )
