Higgins glass in the UK
glasswizard:
I live three hours from where its made. I have a few pieces and I know the reason I obtained them is because the person selling did not know what they had. I do see Higgins from time to time in the antique shops, but the prices are way out of my league. And I forsee the prices continuing to climb. Terry

The founders are no more but the studio continues to thrive so you can still buy new http://www.higginsglass.com/portfolio.php?s=11&p=36

Thats an incredible piece of art work Paul! I'm green with envy
Any thoughts on how you are going to display it to its best advantage?
I've just sent out the old man to suss out glass shelves at B.&.Q for my glass. Then I'll have to look at lighting methinks! If I had your Higgins' piece, it would take centre-stage :P

Great piece, Paul.
Does anyone know how the new pieces are marked?
I found some info on the different markings in Designed and Signed (sorry out of town and can't remember the entire title of the book) which explained the difference in the engraved marks on the back versus the gold lettering on the front.
Is all Higgins valued the same or is one era more valuable than others, besides the pieces signed Frances Higgins?
