Topic: Loetz type vase.

Hi,
Are there any of my Czech mates out there please? 
I bought this vase for a reasonable sum in a Charity shop today.  I do like collecting modern irridescent pieces but this took my eye. I wonder if anyone has any idea of it's origen please. I have picked up the odd piece of Loetz type items before but they always seemed to have some kind of fault, rim chips or bruises, missing silver tops etc. but this vase seems to be in very good condition.

Not bad for the old charity shop!
Who gives these pieces away!!!!!

ps hopefully you will get more confirmation, dont take my word for it, and it appears, all the Glass makers
from that area copied each others designs!

I know what you mean about copies. It goes on now and I'm sure it went on then. I bought a pair of Bimini style glass snakes for a couple of pounds a week ago and I would have sworn they were the real thing but 1 of the snakes had a label showing that it was made in the old GDR. Bimini glass, I believe, originated in Austria.
I did visit the Loetz site earlier but failed to find a similar piece, I obviously missed the Creta link. I do tend to charge through reference sites in my eagerness to find an answer. Thank goodness for people like you.
With regards to your statement re "Who gives these pieces away". I think it's the relatives of the deceased who just want to clear their parents old homes and have no idea of an items worth. I'm sure I've done it myself in my pre collecting days.
