Topic: a couple of early moulded Hyacinth bulb vases

Just going to pop these on ebay, thought might get a couple of quid
its struck me they may be older than i first thought,
purple one has lots of age wear, bubbles, and the top is very roughly ground,
is this because someone has tried remove damage?  Both moulded with seam marks,
just thought Patricia may like to see them
Purple just less than 6 inche tall, 2 3/4" inner rim
Blue 7 1/2" flared rim, but inner, about 2 1/2"

Hi Andy,

Not really high flyers both of them.
If the amethyst one would have been stamped Tye on the bottom it would sell quick enough, now you have a "vile imitation" as the catalogues call it. Tye registered this model in 1850 and it was sold for some 50 years. I would put it on eBay as Tye shape, the name might attract attention and you're not lying.
The other one is typical Jugendstil (Arts and Crafts in England?) from around 1900. Not unique but nice, colour is nice too. Makers???
Still, each one of them is about a 100 years old if you think of it and very English. Now just let me see what sort of sales pitch you're going to make up for them!!

Thats really helpful Patricia, youve already made me look at them differently,
I will get my creative juices flowing for my descriptions, i believe Jugenstihl is Art Nouveau
for us Brits. Certainly older than i first thought.
Ive just noticed on the tall blue Jugenstihl vase, there is a faint mark, like leaves,
do you recognise it?
If not, no problems.

I had a look at mine but no such marks underneath.
I have others though that do have something similar at the bottom and again, they are from 1900-1920 so the time frame fits. I would definitely add that picture when this one goes up for sale and may be you could call it Edwardian?
