Possible Nerox a Petoni?

What do you think? I took a chance on this...Of course I haven't seen it in person yet. I was really up in the air about it, but it was cheap, so I guess I'm a gambler.  ;)

Shandiane, it doesn't look like an Ermanno Toso nerox a petoni vase. To me it has a more Oriental look. If so, I am glad that you did not pay more. I hope that I am wrong and that you located a rare treasure.

As usual, I agree completely with Anita. At least it has a black background. I've seen pieces adveritised as nerox a petoni which had no black.

I took the same risk on a big vase which I thought be nerox a petoni, but no joy. I should post a picture some time in case somebody can tell me what it actually is. It does look  and feel like Murano.

My commiseration.

I'd love to see your vase, David.

Looks like mine is Azerbaijan glass:

Here's the monster vase--it's 151/2" X 61/2"-- that I hoped might be Nerox a petoni. However, the black is really a very deep aubergine and the petoni are closer to smears of glass than the slices of murrines that seem to be standard.

Any ideas would e appreciated.

Isn't this Russian glass? I have seen a lot of the Russian glass this past couple of years. I think a lot of it is beautiful. I am always surprised that it goes for such a low cost. I haven't ever owned any, so I don't know if the glass is of good quality. Many of the pieces I see look like they are very good quality.

Anita, you're right. Here's the site I found for Essie Zareh, the designer of this one and some of the others I've seen around on ebay. I'm curious to see how the glass will look in person.

I'm not sure the Azeris would thank you for calling them Russians!
