This discussion has been really interesting because the design of several of Dartington's stemware services draw on earlier English glasses.
You've only got to look at the "Victoria" service:
http://vads.ahds.ac.uk/diad/bres/pub/COID/234/076.jpgwhich is a dead ringer for some of the better proportioned English C19th rummers.
The 1971 Dartington catalogue said Sharon was "really quite a sparkler"

One to watch out for too is the variant with cut flutes on the stem and lower bowl.
