Possible Leerdam/A. D. Copier? THANKS!
« on: September 23, 2008, 10:45:07 PM »
Hi and thanks for looking!
Are these Leerdam by A. D. Copier? We recently purchased from an estate a Leerdam/Copier decanter that was marked and the items shown below which are not marked.
The pitcher w/the glass is a beautiful violet color that is all but impossible to photograph. We think it is the Rumba pattern but cannot confirm it at this time and looking for your expert help. Pitcher is ~ 6-1/4" tall and has the same cut pattern around the neck as the base of the glasses which are ~5-/3/8" tall.
The smoke Tango color glasses are the same color as the marked decanter. They are optic and stand ~ 4-1/8" tall. All of these pieces (including the marked decanter) give the illusion of being heavy in weight but are surprisingly light since the glass is so thin and fragile.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Lenore

Oh my!  :chky: Could this be A. D. Copier's NM-NEW MODEL design and not Rumba)!!! Here is a link to a website that we just found!
http://www.botterweg.com/Auction/Bid/tabid/59/auctionid/7/tag/Leerdam/lotid/2178/language/en-US/Default.aspx
Will see if we can find more info on the NEW MODEL design. Perhaps, someone may be familiar w/this deisgn... if so please let us know! As always, THANKS!

The Waterjug and glass are certainly not N.M.

I can't actually be sure of an identification here, but I would guess that it's Leerdam (Copier) from about 1936 (Verrerie catalogue or Sonoor catalogue)
The colour certainly could be Leerdam's 'grijsviolet' (grey/violet).

Because of the large number of similar glasses I will need a proper profile view of the glass for identification, along with exact measurements in mm please.
(The jugs are harder because there are very many (underdocumented) designs in the oeuvre)

I think the tumblers are unlikely since very few were made in Holland with an optic. This is a style more associated with Belgium
