mark on (murano?) figure.....??
« on: October 04, 2008, 01:13:26 PM »
Not the acid stamp I was expecting or hoping to find on this piece and it's almost invisible and only partial so not much to go on, but any ideas would be welcome. A positive ID would be better still.

The piece itself is 26.5cm (10 1/2in) high with plenty of honest wear to the base. I've done a pretty crude drawing of what is visable of the mark, but it's small, scratched and faint so still might not be 100% correct.

Thanks, Martyn.

Puzzling! Could it be a pig?  Does it stand on its legs?  Nice colour.

 ;D

It does look like a pig if you put it on all fours, but it definately is meant to go upright...the base is polished flat with a polished pontil mark to the middle. I do like it looking like a pig though!
