mini-engraving R.S
« on: October 10, 2008, 09:28:50 AM »
This little 16-facet panel cut pot, 5 cm (2") high has an engraved lid as per picture attached.

The sockle on which a cherub plays the triangle has the initials R.S

Not even sure if we're in France or Bohemia here.

Help!

Surely this is a H. Hoffmann moulded intaglio? It has the butterfly mark, though I've never seen initials before...

Found it here (no. 66): http://www.glas-musterbuch.de/Hoffmann-1927.25+B6YmFja1BJRD0yNSZwcm9kdWN0SUQ9NTk4JnBpZF9wcm9kdWN0PTI1JmRldGFpbD0_.0.html

Does anyone know if Hoffman (or other makers) called this type of molded work "intaglio"?
