Gladderashyttan vase
« on: October 11, 2008, 03:51:09 PM »
I bought this small vase today engraved Gladderashyttan and some numbers on the bottom. Quite frankly I've never heard of them and I've also tried googling it. Anyone out there who can help?

Could you please add a photo of the inscription, thanks!

I googled and found a Swedish glassworks called Gadderås glasbruk (1875-1967)

Ingela, here is a photo of the base signature. I have had to put talcum powder on in order to take the photo as it is very small.

In the beginning. Gadderås Glasbruk made window glass. In 1930 the company merged with Flygsfors Glasshouse
under a financial agreement. In 1959 Gadderås was bought out by Flygsfors and three companys were managed under one roof: Flygsfors, Gaddderås and Målerås glassworks. A few years later, Gadderås was closed down.

All that exists now is buildings falling down and allot of tall grass. This glass works was located a short distance away from Flygfors which is a short walk down the road from Orrefors.
