GREEN CASED VASE. ID REQUIRED PLEASE
« on: November 21, 2008, 07:47:41 PM »
Is there anybody out there who can help me with this one. Its green cased in clear with an oval section, the base is polished flat with a concave polished pontil mark. It has a nice feel to it very similar to the Whitefriars cased pieces I own . It measures 11 cm from point to point and just over 10 cm high.

HELP PLEASE !

Dave

I *think* (although I'm not certain) that these may be modern Polish production.  I've had one the same shape but in a smoky colour - they're nice pieces of glass nevertheless.

I've had one of these too.  I thought it Polish too.  I don't think the base mark is really a pontil mark, more of a simple depression in the base from memory.

Thanks, I did consider it to be new, but as you say these are well made very nice pieces of glass.
