I am so glad I found you!!
« on: November 27, 2008, 05:28:55 PM »
I have been trying to find a active board that can help me with id'ing some glass pieces.  I looks like this board is very active and helpful.    I have numerous books that I have tried to identify some glass pieces in but can't seem to find any information on them.  Please help me!!

I am putting a picture below from photobucket.  All you have to do is click on the link and it will take you to a album with all of the items in it.  If you have any problems, let me know.

Thanks in advance
Doris

Mod: This message has been tidied up to provide what is hoped to be the correct link to Doris's album - see below.
Thanks for your help,
Doris

Hi Doris, welcome to the board.

The direct link to your album would seem to be this one:
http://s362.photobucket.com/albums/oo70/doris104/
The other links you originally gave went to specific images, rather than the full album.

However, it would be best to set up separate messages, each with a link, or set of links, using the Photobucket "Direct Link" option for each specific item that you require help for.

Having everything included in one message can get a bit cumbersome for folk to a) navigate through the one album with glass and non-glass items and b) make sure that each relevant image is seen for all items. Also to allow for various views and comments on a given item, a single message covering all pieces could easily get disjointed.

Hello Doris, welcome to the board  :)
For identification it could be helpful to know where you live ? Looks all very US to me?

Thanks for the cleanup!  I was at a loss as to what would work.  I didn't know if putting them up with individual posts would be to much to ask, so I did it this way.  As long as it's ok, I will do them separate.

Pamela, I am in the NW USA, so yes they would mostly be American.  I hope that helps.

We are leaving for Thanksgiving dinner now, but I will get some of them done when I get home tonight.
Thanks for your help,
Doris

I can help with two of the pieces on the first page. The piece with the fruit in the center is American depression glass, Pioneer pattern (Federal Glass). The amber bowl with the thumbprint marks is American pattern glass, Manhattan pattern (not to be confused with the depression glass Manhattan pattern). Judging by the color, it is probably a mid-century copy of the US Glass pattern, probably by Bartlett-Collins.

Thanks Silver,  Is the square dish a trinket dish or what would the purpose for this item be?  I have a set of 4.  Is there any value to either of the items that you identified for me?
Thanks for your help,
Doris

I am not sure which square dish that you are talking about. Both the Pioneer and Manhattan bowls that I was referring to are round. You have the Pioneer labelled as a fruit bowl and the Manhattan as an amber bowl. If the Manhattan is a large bowl (about 10 in), it is a master berry bowl. If smaller, it is a berry bowl. Both of the patterns are very common, so don't have much in the way of value. They are enjoyable to have. I would not be afraid to use them as serving dishes.

If this bowl is quite thin glass and lightish for it's size it may be French and Arcoroc
