Topic: Thomas Webb Bowl - or is it Whitefriars?

I have this lovely bowl in a deep amethyst colour.  It has a diameter of 7" and is about 3 1/4" high.  It has a dimpled effect and a polished pontil on the base.  It has no markings to indicate maker.  I was wondering if this was a Thomas Webb design?  Any help would be appreciated.  I have another dish which is quite different which I will list separately - I have no idea about it at all.  Thanks.

KK — It looks very Thomas Webb to me — shape, colour, pattern and finish are all OK.   If I owned it I would have no qualms at all about describing it so.

Towards the end of Hajdamach is an analysis of the dates of introduction of Webb's various pattern moulds — yours should be in that list.

There were always (until very recently) trade buyers who did not want their glass marked.
