Hi

I picked up this dish in a local antique shop because I thought youngest daughter might like it. On cleaning I found the registration number R107316 faintly embossed on both shells, which seems to be registered by Edward Moore & Co in 1888.  Overall length about 10 inches, colour a distinct pale lilac - not quite like the excess manganese purple you sometimes see. 

Any further ideas on actual maker and age? And what it might have been made as?

You have the maker! The date is right but it might be a year or so newer. Moore seems to have been bought by another Tyneside glassworks, Sowerby, in 1891, but I don't know if this mould would have been reused. These sorts of things were for serving preserves, relishes, jellies or even sweets. The purple is manganese
