Platinum Banded Crystal Glasses
« on: January 31, 2009, 08:49:53 AM »
I have two sets of 'retro' looking glasses of lovely quality and very unusual shape - whisky glasses and hi-ball glasses. They have a platinum band at the top and a recessed platinum circle in the base.  I have never seen anything like them before so would appreciate some help in identifying them.  I don't even know how old they are.  The whisky glass is 8.5 cm (3 3/8") tall and has a base diameter of 10 cm (4").  The hi-ball glass is 15 cm (6") tall and has a base diameter of 8 cm (3.25").  I think they are mouth-blown as they vary very slightly in size and weight.  Hopefully the photos will help.  Thanks for your help so far!    Pat
