According to Sarpellon in
Miniature Masterpieces, Mosaic Glass 1838 - 1924, the portrait in that weight is from a range of second versions of Umberto I, by Luigui Moretti, 1888-94.
I suppose it's possible that late 19th century portrait canes could have been included in weights from the early 20th century, but perhaps the weight is all ok for the 1890s period?
I imagine Roy, and others, are keenly watching this one.
