Topic: Glass measure by Primus

I found this yesterday in a second hand shop for 50p. 

Probably dates to around c1900, but I believe the date is stamped on this one (1909).

Patent no 14331. It's got an unusual white rim, i thinks it's painted enamel although it's very thick.

As far as i know, Primus is still going today in Sweden, it's an outdoor/camping supply company.

Interesting one, but I wouldn't assume it's that Primus. It's a very common company name, or part thereof, and a common trademark

I see. It has "Primus" with double quotes stamped on it. I always thought the double quotes meant that it was a pattern/shape name?

I suspect in this case it's a trademark, possibly for lab equipment, but ! couldn't find it, although there seem to be a few examples of your measure about

... so all your others lack this feature? Cute having drachms, maybe they also made chemist ware. And perhaps they outsourced glass production.

Yes, all my other glass lack this white enameled rim...   ....and this is my first glass measure.

It may have been used to help protect the rim from chipping  :huh:

TC — As it has a spout, how about a simple maximum fill line?

Not much point in using it to measure then, as the graduations finish well below the enamel
