Huge Pressed Glass Bottle
« on: March 03, 2009, 09:02:06 PM »
Hi

This is a fabulous bottle/decanter - measures 26" including stopper.  The close up colour is the best - very bright.  Reminds me of the Blenko types, but is different enough for me to think it's not!  Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

It's probably Italian.  There's a lot of these big decanters out there, I think they date from about the 70s.  Could have been filled with bath salts or something at one time.   :)

Fab thank you!  I've had other 'big bottles' before, but this one is such a gorgeous colour and a really unusual shape (the round body is flattened to an oval shape - sorry should have mentioned that!) that I wondered if it may be 'more'  :)

These are often referred to as "Genii" bottles - made in Empoli circa 1970s.
