murano ashtray/bowl?
« on: May 04, 2009, 05:28:31 AM »
Ive recently aquired this piece from a local charity shop it was £2 its 9" wide at widest point, The rim is folded over in an amber colour but the main body is clear on the whole the foot is polished and doesnt appear to have too much wear so maybe a modern piece? Just wondered what it is and is it murano please... :fwr:

I can't see the bowl very well in the pictures, but the color does not look like one that was used often in Murano, particularly for thicker glass. The color as it appears on my monitor is common in Russian and oriental glass. I am sure it is also common in other areas. If no one here recognizes the design, perhaps we can switch the bowl to the general glass board.
