murano dog with encased fish scale pattern.

my nan has a clear dog about 6 cm high and inside is a brown fish scale effect has anyone come accross one before?

Buttonfluff, battuto is cut on the outside of a vessel. So if the scale pattern is on the inside, it is not battuto. You can see some examples of battuto in the B section of http://www.the-loschs.com/technik/technik1.html. If you can take a picture of the dog, someone may know what it is.

The effect you describe sounds similar to one used often by FM Konstglas (or Marcolin Art Crystal), but was also done by at least one Murano company. How about a photo?

There's one Murano company that we know for sure did this type of "gray-effect" sommerso glass -- Vincenzo Nason. There may have been other companies, though. I would really like to know what the label says. Whenever you can, please post it. If the dog is Murano, I suspect it is V Nason based on the charcoal scale vessel in the middle.
