3rd piece, green & amber decanter
« on: July 06, 2009, 03:42:51 AM »
This decanter is the 3rd piece from same lot.  It has an amber body green base and green top, there is a stamp on the front as seen in pic.  The top is very thin & delicate.  Thnx in advance!

Do you have a UV/blacklight as it looks like the top and bottom maybe Uranium (it will glow brightly under the light if it is)

I don't think this would have uranium trim. Usually uranium has a certain glow under flash, which is missing in this case. It might still be interesting to check it.

The stopper and bottle shape remind me of some of the bottles that were made in Murano in the 1950s for Bischoff Brandy. I wish I had a copy of catalog pages showing the bottles. I hope someone on the group will have a copy so they can see if this design is included.

I found some of the pages of the catalog on eBay and checked for your bottle, but didn't see it among the Bischoff Brandy bottles on the pages. Still, it reminds me of some of them.

Bottle brown and bottle green combined point at a bottle plant - either Empoli if it is an older article, or at Spain if it is modern.
