Frank Thrower worked at Portmeirion before going to Dartington so there is a link between the two companies - although having said that this particular vase is obviously nothing whatsoever to do with Frank Thrower or Dartington.  I'm sure I read somewhere that contemporary Portmeirion branded glass was manufactured in Poland.
