uninspiring weight with pontil
« on: July 27, 2009, 05:43:47 PM »
Hi,
It was a hard weekend at the boots. A couple of my glass collecting friends had picked up this weight and left it even at it's £1 cost but I was intrigued with it's textured base aventurine and raised pontil. I think it is meant to represent a sea urchin flowering out of it's tube body but the detail is not good. My thought was early Chinese so i would appreciate any ideas.

Thanks,
Bryn
