Hi
I must say that is a lovely base and one I have never seen before the base reminds me of the 3 cherubs base? I can't imagine what bowl would adorn the top,I suppose you could have a play about with vaious bowls to see which fitted compfortably-I sometimes do this.
If you ever decide to sell this I would be very interested.
Many thanks Nige

The overall shape looks very like a Hoffmann piece shown in their 1927 catalogue. It can be seen here on the glas-musterbuch.de site:
http://glas-musterbuch.de/Hoffmann-1927.25.0.html (bild 47)

However, your example has afew detail diferences & quality dosn't quite look up to Hoffmann's standard. I'd still think it's likly to be Czech though.

Thanks Nige and Steven for your comments, sorry for the delay in replying but have been away for a few days, Steven it does look very similar to the Hoffmann one but not identicle and no bowl,

Nige I will BEAR you in mind this is one of a pair that I bought as I had not seen one before , the second one does have a slight crack through one of the bears paws

Thanks Roy

Hi Roy

This comport base reminds me of the Polar Bear Frog which sits on the iceberg bowl. Could the bowl fits perfectly on this cute little comport base? If so, This could be a clue to ID the maker of the polar bear? Just my thoughts :)

Anyhow, I would too be interested to buy this item if you're ready to sell it.

Cheers
Brenton
