I am glad that you were the one that called them horrible. There ain't nothing worse than a bad chicken. I see birds like these a lot. I believe they are Venetian tourist glass, probably made in Murano. Yours are actually two of the nicer ones I've seen. I like them.

A lot of people like the goofy roosters. Glass collectors may look at them with a little hesitation, but the birds have a fine primary market. There are a lot of rooster collectors out there and people who buy presents for them.

thought you might like to see one more  -  I think they're great  -  mind you one is enough.    So often when you see these they have chips or bits missing, so when I found this one without any damage, I thought I wud give it a home.   I believe that some of the clowns are worth a lot of money.      Paul S.

I shud have also commented that "the difference in manufacturing style is quite striking"  -  obviously very different hands at work between yours and mine.  Your mother is quite welcome to have mine...........the price is three hundred and fourteen pounds nineteen shillings and sixpence halfpenny (postage included, of course).
