Colored Cordial Glasses - Scandinavian?? ID Help Please
« on: August 14, 2009, 03:52:15 PM »
We moved to our new house around 3 years ago, and as amazing as it may be... or sad, depending on your point of view, I have just un-boxed some glass items yesterday that have been stored in the garage.  :spls:    Among the many things I "found" and I say found because I forgot I had them (it was kind of like Christmas), were some sets of colored drinking glasses. These have always struck me as Scandinavian, but I am certainly open to suggestions. I believe them to be from the 1960's. They are approx 3 inches tall and three inches in diameter at the mouth. There are 4 dimples in the glass near the base.  I got them at an estate sale many years ago, and at the same sale I got a set of colored glasses in a different form that are Belgian and are labeled Boussu. Not exactly the same colors, but most definitely the same style and feel. It may have been coincidence that the Belgian glasses were there and these may not be Scandinavian or European at all. Any ideas??

TIA,  Craig
I have been told that glass is my mistress......

even before I reached the part where you brought up Boussu I thought "Belgium, possibly De Rupel (Boom) or Boussu" - or maybe Maastricht (which is on the border anyway)...
