it's the mark that I can't fathom.   Rather a nice pinkish hue to the glass, with a raised ground rim foot show fair amount of wear, and looks as tho someone spent their life cutting sandwiches judging by the amount of knife marks on the tops side.  About 22.5 cms. wide.      The marks are feint, and I have done my best to reproduce what I think I am looking at, but not entirely sure, otherwise wud have taken pics. with the camera.   Have drawn what you see from the top side, and oddly if you view from underneath the large triangle looks like a figure 4.   The mark lies betwee the circle of wreaths/prunts and the outer ring of dots.   The piece looks quite old, and I don't know even if it is U.K. made, so very grateful for any suggestions.   Depression glass??   Paul S.

The pattern looks like Bagley Katherine, 3187/8, 1950s to 1975. Perhaps the marks are artefacts of manufacture

thanks for quick reply Christine  -  must admit I wud have had it down for something older, I have never seen so many knife cuts on a glass plate.   The marks are a mystery  -  they certainly have been created deliberately, to signify something no doubt.   When you say 'artefacts of manufacture' - are you implying some sort of code by the mould maker?     cheers     Paul S.
