I found its twin Keith, and Christine and I thought possibly Webb too.

Thanks for the reply,it has that 'honey' amber colour you see in other marked pieces and has that Webb 'feel' if you know what I mean

I will go mad if I see another of these advertised on ebay as Whitefriars!!!!

It's it's Webb that should Sunshine amber, if it contains Uranium, it's certainly not Honey amber!

(I believe Lustrousstone has identified some bowls as Honey amber, it's an odd colour - a bit greeny browny, but glows like billy-oh in sunlight.)

oh, Emmi, I'm all for touchy feely             As we all know, these things come in much bigger sizes, and are then called 'bucket' vases  -  and are most often attributed, wrongly as you say, to W/Fs.  -  most probably because of the controlled bubbles and colour (and most obviously of all, because most of the public have heard of W/Fs., but wouldn't automatically think of Webb).     The large examples I've seen have smaller bubbles (more like W/Fs. bubbles - just to confuse things).        I am definitely a Webb's man (can't afford the W/Fs. prices  -  'Tulip' vase at Ardingly the other week, and he wanted £400!!!!).    I have a piece of Richardson's in amethyst (1920 ish) -  which you might mistake for Webb  -  so not an easy area to feel sure of attribution, especially if you're missing a back stamp.

I've got a large amethyst bucket vase with slightly elongated but evenly-sized controlled bubbles.
I have been told it's wfs - I'm not sure I was convinced. It's very finely blown, much more so than a flared Webb controlled bubble bowl I have, but that's cased.
Jury's still out on my bucket - did wfs make flared rim buckets with controlled bubbles at all?

Don't be surprised if these turn out to be Edinburgh Crystal!  Of course both Edinburgh Crystal (Edinbugh & Leith) and Richardsons are linked directly to Thomas Webb, so none of the three would be surprising really :huh:
