Hello Again Fellow Glass Mad Types!

Is this a Henry Greener jug perhaps?  It's 3½" tall and is of quite a pale amber.

I had a HG vase recently and it seems in keeping with that...

Your thoughts appreciated.

Thank your for posting a reply - I really appreciate it.  Can I ask your source of information?  Not because I have the slightest doubt regarding your accuracy, but because I would like to know the best place to go to attempt ID's for myself before hassling the people here.  I feel the effort should be made before asking, but it's knowing where to start.

I have used pressglas for Art Deco items but have no idea where to look up Victorian.

Stu — It's illustrated in Carnival in Cottle, p34, and you will probably find its pattern number in Glen's CDs.

When you say "Cottle" is that the Encyclopedia of Glass (I looked on Amazon) and what are Glen's CD's?  Sorry, I am completely new really.  I only have a Miller's Collectables 2006 on my shelf so far!

Cottle — Cottle, Simon, Sowerby - Gateshead Glass, Tyne & Wear Museums Service, 1986, ISBN 0 905974 27 1.   This is the standard work for Sowerby glass, and includes some remarkable discoveries.   Not easy to find now, but readily available, in the UK at least, on inter-library loan, for which your local library may make a small administrative charge.

A common-sense warning about inter-library loan.   Always check for missing pages / plates before you leave the library and take it home.   Here in the UK there is an inter-library loan copy of Ysart Glass that has four pages missing at the centre of a section.   Replacing that would be expensive.
