Now only 3 inches high could some one tell me what type of neck this once had,probably paid too much but being one of the poor people,Galle(it is isn't it) is usually out of my price range,Keith.

yes very probably Galle

alas missing about 4 inches of narrow stem and a little flared top -usually know as a banjo vase -see attached

these turn up cut down like this quite often

hope you did not pay too much

Thanks Mike,pretty much like I thought it would be but Galle costs so much and this was the only way I could get my hands on some,ta, Keith.
