Hello could anyone help me with this ashtray/bowl.  The lady I bought it off told me who it was which sounded like valareous but the closest I can find is Verlys.  I think I am going in the wrong direction could anyone help please.  I love this item but unfortunately it has suffered a couple of chips.

I have just found a name which could be what the lady was trying to tell me - Vallauris, however does anyone know if they did glass as I believe they are known for their ceramics.  When I say this name "the french way" it sounds exactly like the lady said - Val - o - reece.  I did think maybe the lady was just saying this maker to get me to buy it but as it was only pennies I have dismissed that  thought.  I could envisage this design as being 50's/60's
