If I am not mistaken, the base of this piece of glass will be unmistakably Chinese in appearance. I am sitting looking at one on a shelf in my house right now..... Pretty vase, but Chinese I am pretty sure.

That bottom is polished much nicer than mine, but I will still stick to Chinese, as I also see them sold on ebay by sellers I am pretty sure are selling Chinese "Murano". Mine is ground smooth, but not polished to a high gloss finish. Other than the base finish, my vase is identical.

Thanks for that it is a lovely piece of glass whatever. The "beak" did raise some doubt about Czech.

This is most probably a copy of a famous Murano piece originally designed by Flavio Poli. They have been copied by a few of the Murano makers including A.Seguso and many times recently by the Chinese but some are better than others. It has most probably ruined the original as it might be hard to id against some of the better copies unless you can get it to an expert or you have a sticker.

I did notice that your base had some small edge chips maybe a bit of age to it and is polished well. Good looking things though aren't they?

The original is quite slim side on but I am sure that has been copied as well, although most of the Chinese ones are more rounded.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.
