hi picked this up today, great heavy lump
The glass is a beautiful blue (sadly i forgot to take the pictures early so its under false light, i will take some tomorrow in natural light, thats if we get any)
made from quality nice feeling glass (to me the texture is similar to hoglund pieces ive had, the little dish paperweights, also similarities with the chunkyness and mould markings down the side)
The body of the vase is quite flat and front and back face have a textured mould, the base has been polished just on the short edges where it sits and it has a ground out concave pontil which has been polished but left matt.
The neck is applied quite crudely but well done if that makes sense (i like it anyway), the stopper is quite heavy too although the ball is hollow.
with stopper it stands at 32.5cms, 15cms wide by 5cms deep and weighs in at a fairly hefty 1.850kg.
Ive had a good look over it and as yet havent found any signiature or markings, it does have some wear to the base where it makes contact although this could be a false way of judging age due to weight..
Does anybody recognise it or have any ideas who where and when?? it was just £8 so im not too worried ive made a big mistake.. well i know i havent as we both like it and thats what matters really

many thanks in advance
michelle
