I bought this today mainly because the colour looked to me like Whitefriars flc amber (full lead crystal). After looking at the catalogues on Whitefriars.com I think it looks like a William Wilson design for a beer mug, see the 1957 catalogue
http://www.whitefriars.com/catalogues/contents.php?pageNum_catalogue=7&totalRows_catalogue=271&id=147 , it can also be seen in the 1938, 1940 and 1949 catalogues.
This one is 5¼ inches tall and weighs 1½ pounds, for imperially challenged metric heads that is 13.5cm and 675g. It holds about ¾ of a pint (400ml

), which is less than stated in the catalogue.
A few questions, if it is a Wf 9036 beer mug, when would it have been made, is it flc amber and does anyone have any more general info on the use of flc amber?
Thanks, John.
I have not posted this on 'is it whitefriars' 'cos they can be a bit frightening over there

, but after having a poke around it appears Whitefriars used flc amber and flc gold as well as other colours in flc.
