Topic: Italian maybe ??

Hi all, I need help id'ing this thinly blown vase that I bought some 18 years back. It is 20cm tall, has a ground pontil and lots of age wear to the base. I am sure I have seen something similar in the past described as Ialian / Murano! :thup:

Your vase is a soffiati Venetian glass vase. This type of glass was most popular in the 1920-30s. Yours appears to be that form. They can be difficult to attribute. Companies that are famous for the technique include Venini and MVM Cappellin.

I'd have to handle it before saying anything definite. Twenties and thirties glass in these shapes have been made in Germany (von Wersin designed quite a few) and Leerdam (Copier) and Maastricht (Roosendaal) specialised in it.

Is it a relatively bright and clear pink, or is it quite smokey/dusky? It's hard to tell under tungsten lighting and against a grey backdrop.
