made by Pyrex?
« on: November 21, 2009, 10:16:42 PM »
This reminds me of these clear pyrex dishes because of the handles.  It is quite thick with sort of triangular yellow shapes in 4 segments.  Clearly for dips.  Before I go using it does anyone know who it is by please and sort of age.  More wear on the top edges than underneath.
Thank you

Pyrex is probably the most consistently marked mass produced glass and I don't think they ever used staining....

p.s. can't speak for the French licensees marking rigour though.

Thanks for your thoughts Frank I have seen loads of Pyrex with the embossed marking but just the handles made me think it.

If it were by CorningFrance it would say so. If it were by Duralex (St. Gobain) it might have a mould number. And if it were made by Arques it would probably include "France".

None of those unfortunately Ivo, I have scoured it over and it definitely has no marks or numbers.  I see Duralex all the time too but they do have Duralex embossed on the items, I think I have a Duralex sucrier in one of my cabinets and maybe other items too.

My initial thought also. Had a quick search, but found nothing to
back up this assumption.
