Bagley Elf Posy/Duncan Miller Caribbean??
« on: December 24, 2009, 07:24:29 AM »
Hi One and all

Here is a link to a piece of glass on NZ auction site called Trade Me only for NZ and Australia. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=260815006

The auction has finished and the piece has sold , so hope I am not bending any rules. Please a mod can remove the link

Would be gratefull for your thoughts on this piece ( I say Bagley Elf) I have done a google for D&M Caribbean although the pattern is of wavy lines like the Elf piece I could not find a posy shape.
D&M produce a lot of glass which is classed as Depression Glass in the USA and Collectable

Do we have any US memebers who can tell us more about Caribbean?

Best wishes and Merry Christmas Tony H

Looks like the largest size Bagley Elf to me, and I would say the frog was a marriage as the colour is wrong. The colour of the bowl looks good and the number of "loops" in the ripples looks about right.

Duncan Miller Caribbean 1936-55, ten vases are listed, but only five I can find pictured so not certain about the other five in shape. You can find this hat shape in the US though during the 30's although since I know nothing about Bagley I'd bow to Christine's view. Ken
