The paperweights were said to be special one-offs made at St Louis (rather than Baccarat - so another tenuous link there

after the factory had ceased its normal 19th century paperweight production. All who came into contact with the paperweights died in mysterious circumstances. It's a good read with a better, and more plausible, mystery than any of the Chinese-turned-into-Baccarat paperweight ones.
