Glass figurine
« on: January 11, 2010, 12:08:35 AM »
Acquired this piece most recently and to be honest no nothing about it as I have never seen one before.  If anyone can identify this, I would be grateful.  It could be modern but have no idea.  It stands elegantly and is well detailed with regards to the design.  It measures an overall height of 19.5cm with hat at heighest peak.  It also should be noted that there is a gold stringed belt or it could be part of the dress.  It could be a perfume bottle.  I just have no idea

Mod: images rotated through 90 degrees to avoid us getting cricked necks.

Delightful! Can you add a pic of the stopper on its own and a shot of the bottom please.

Hi,

seen many very similar bottles being sold new in charity shops over the last couple of years. I would assume contemporary Far Eastern or Eastern European production.

Martyn.

Hi, Martyn,  Thanks for you info.  I must say that I have travelled around and I have never seen one similar or the same as this.  Have you any further info. as to the Website I could visit.  I have scoured the net in search for this exquisite piece and without success!!

Just had a very quick search on-line and haven't spotted anything either...

As I said the pieces I've seen around are very similar - same style, techniques, finish, etc - and stacked on the shelves I choose not to study too closely along with matching candlesticks, but can't really add any more info or say I'm 100% certain.

Perhaps someone else can confirm my recollection or has another opinion.

Hi Otis

I have no idea I am afraid, but just wanted to say I think it is very beautiful also :)  it reminds me of the Jean Paul Gaultier bottles in it's way.  It may turn out to be a  mass produced item perhaps but I would have bought it as well  ;D

Thanks for your info.  Flying Free.  I must say, if they were mass produced, surely they would be accessible to purchase or even view on the Web?  I have tried using Google and various other Web sites to no avail.
