Dartington Crystal - Millennium Collection
« on: January 20, 2010, 01:51:40 AM »
I bought this vase months ago from this collection - had it sent sea mail as it was so heavy. it arrived yesterday and is gorgeous, but I can't find out any info on the Millennium collection - have googled to no avail. All I can find info on is a range of drinkware made for Tesco - presumably sold in the Millennium Dome. As I collect 20th Century glass I thought I needed a piece to mark the end of the era (I know - strictly its the beginning of the next !)
The vase is 23 cm high, 15 cm at widest point and a deep kingfisher colour - more like the whitefriars kingfisher colour than the old Dartington kingfisher shade.  It has two paper labels, which say Dartington Crystal; Millennium Collection;Timeless design classics handmade in England.

Does anyone know anything about this range, what else was in it, who designed it, or where I can find info?  I figure it was made around 2000 of course  Duh!  ;D .  I have checked the Dartington Glass website but can find nothing there . Haven't emailed them to ask yet though - thought I'd pick your brains first!
Thanks
JAK
