Blue Frost Art Deco Bagley Bowl? Handpainted flowers
« on: January 28, 2010, 04:06:27 PM »
Hello,
I was told this was a Art Deco bowl from the 1930's,it is cobalt blue color frost satin. 3 feet.Thick raised lines underneath that meet the center.
Rim is flat with a beaded design around it.
Stands 3" high and is 3" deep
I was also told these maybe Bagley?
Thank You

Well done with uploading pictures, now they need to be a little bigger. If you make the longest dimension 700 pixels, that usually gives a good result.

Most definitely not Bagley and probably not English. I guess from your glass you are in the USA and I would suggest that for this piece. A good place for Depression glass is www.chataboutdg.com. Some of us belong to both forums and you are welcome to ask in both forums.

Can the mods please move to general glass.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked out this other website, thank you.
I don't understand what "Can the mods please move to general glass?" means??

And, another thing I payed for a quick appraisal on this bowl about 2 months ago, and from a very reputable Auction House. He told me this was most likely British and it maybe Bagley?
I guess I wasted my money????

Here is a good online resource for Bagley http://www.wakefieldmuseums.org/modes_holdingpages/modes_knottingley_glass.html. Bagley never made cobalt blue.
