Large blue Oval Bowl - ID = Davidson
« on: February 03, 2010, 12:08:53 AM »
A rather large bowl.  Measuring 33.5cm from point to point.  Width from point to point 20cm.  Height 8.5cm.  The base looks familiar to Sklo Union. , but I can't be sure.  The rim around the base is 0.4cm in width.  I am not sure of the name for the pattern design withing the base rim.  Unable to identify.  Can anyone assist please in locating the pattern design within rim, age and origin of this such beautiful piece.  Kind Regards

Bit closer to home: it's Davidson, made in England. They were made in blue, amber and purple that I know of, possibly other colours as well. Somewhere I have a copy of an advert showing these which I was kindly sent for reference when trying to pin down mine:

The colour is Midnight Blue and it was introduced in the 1960s

Hi anne,

Are you sure about the Davidson attribution? I don't think they are. I would be very interested in seeing the advert.

Regards
