Green Textured (Pimples/Bumps) Smoothed Indented Pontil Vase
« on: February 12, 2010, 01:46:09 PM »
I have in my possession a green textured v-shape vase with what look like pimples/lumps all over and a smoothed, indented pontil mark. It seems to be hand blown (I say this in part because one of the 'pimples' has 'run').

Would anyone have any idea as to its origins? (I have photos available but unfortunately they appear to be too large to add and I don't know how to resize.)

Many thanks,

J.

and if that doesnt work you can do it the hard way like i do  ;D, take the picture on a low MP setting on your camera from a distance of about 4/6 feet depending on size then manually cut it in the file as small as it will go.. But try the other way first, as im just awkward (and have probably confused you... sorry) and not great with the computer and thats the only way i can do it (even after nearly a year of being on the board ;D)

Thanks for all the help and kind offers but I've managed to download a free photo editing program and HOPE this is going to work...fingers crossed...

As I said before, the 'pimples' are all over the vase, even though it doesn't appear so from the photo.

Ideas anyone?

Hi,
I´d say it comes from the Empoli region of Italy, made somewhere post WWII.
Here´s another topic about Empoli verde with additional information:
