Help Needed in ID'ing Green & Clear Glass 'Curly' Bowl
« on: February 13, 2010, 10:00:48 AM »
I wonder if anyone could help me with this one. The core is green and the outside clear and there's a smooth pontil mark. Around the edge - not sure you can see this in the photo - are large 'pimples' (does anyone have the real name for these?) The green, which is very vibrant, looks very much like uranium green but isn't.

Thanks in advance,

J.

Hi Jenny,

Now that you have worked out how to get your photos on the board, next stage is to make them larger (so that better detail can be seen) without exceeding 125Kb per image. If you set your pics between say, 500 & 700 pixels wide and then optimise the quality / Kb size, using your image editor application, they will fit well into the message and be easy to study.

Hi Kev,

I'm hoping this one will be better (and thanks for your help!)

That's better.  :)

However ... standard trap that many folk fall into ... background (texture of leather) is sharply in focus but bowl is not. Solution - use a plain background with a neutral colour (off-white or grey are good) and the camera should then auto-focus on the item.
