Two heavy glass 6.5in bowls with solid base and large bubble.
« on: February 28, 2010, 01:56:05 PM »
I have been handed these 2 glass bowls to sell for a charity on Ebay.   Obviously if I can get a definite identification I can then give an accurate description.   They are both approx. 6.5in (16cm) in diameter by 4.25in (11cm) tall.   The base is solid except for a large bubble centrally placed which opens underneath into the concave polished pontil.  The glass at the rim is approx. 0.5cm thick.   The base of one is deeper than that on the other making the profiles slightly different.   I would appreciate any help I can get - they feel like real quality items.   many thanks,  KM.

These are made by Krosno in Poland with 95% certainty.

Thanks again, Ivo.

Certainly the bubble seems to be quite a characteristic now that I have followed up your lead.

Any idea how modern these are?  1960s? KM.

Think these are more than likely pretty recent, probably, within the last 5 years.

Krosno is nice quality glass, quite likely retailed by John Lewis or similar
