when this Vallerysthal compote was made?
« on: February 21, 2010, 07:50:48 PM »
I have a clear glass compote. The colored example in blue milk glass shown in the Milk glass book by Betty and Bill Newbound. My question is when those compotes were made.

pictures are very small

only one large leaf and stem is completely different compared with the Vallérysthal catalogues I can refer to

a triple leaf compote was produced by Portieux and may still be made today

the rim of yours looks as if of later production than around 1930

Sorry for the small size of the pictures. I was trying several times to post them, and untill I made them small, I had errors about oversize images. Any way, thank you for giving me new information regarding this glass.

Please, after reading my post again, I wish to point out that I did not attribute yours to Portieux, just some thoughts mentioned - thanks.

Below is a link to the auction from 2007 showing vases in the same pattern. No clear again. The clear must be newer, I guess.

And thank you Anne. I am reading now.

I believe that they also used the same "Milk glass" book as I did.
