Holmegaard did do a very similar shape, but the ones I have seen have a wide flat rim on top of the neck, same shape as their gul vases.  

This reminds me of some Alsterfors pieces I have had.  Nice piece though!
You CAN be sure it's Scandinavian, although I am sure you know that.

Yes you could well be right, it's all very confusing.
I think the Alsterfors pieces normally have a clear base though and with this one the colour goes right down.

It's the rim that's swaying me against Holmegaard too... their cased glass is not usually ground like that.

How tall is it Bryn ?
I have seen some quite large ones for sale in the Canada... as well as UK - I think in this shape - Iti's hard to be sure from the angle of your pic.

Altho Homlegaard did some very large Gul vases ...I have my doubts that they made many other very large pieces.

The color is also bugging me. It's doesn't seem Holmegaard-ish but I could be wrong. I have an idea that Adam / DAvid555 knows more about this.

I'm not at all sure that it's Scandinavian. It could be .....but I have my doubts.  

But you know at the end of the day it's a great piece in a fabulous shape. As glass researchers we tend to forget that people buy things because they like them. I was most tempted by the one I saw which was in a creamy yellow. Had it not been for the huge cost of shipping it from Canada I would have been more than tempted. Bryn I'm sure yours will do well.

The vase is 8'25" tall. Here it is from a different angle, it's nice to get a fine day to get pictures in natural light. The vase actually reminds me of a nuclear bomb's smoke cloud so could be from the atomic 60's.

Oh ! Its amazing how different glass can look in a different light - the color now looks more on the Scandi side to me.
Yes it's the shape I thought and not at tall as I expected. The others I saw were taller.
But maker is still a mystery I'm afraid until we find something more concrete.

Of course it's nice to have a firm ID and the lack can be disappointing.
All I was trying to say, in my clumsy way, was that in selling don't let lack of a maker worry you so much. Bidders will make up their own minds and you will be surprised at how much they are willing to part with on attractivemness alone...with little or no provenance.
